Dog Breeds in AKC Hound Group
Hounds are one of the oldest dog breeds and races between the other dog breed groups.These dog breeds are very instrumental to assist men to hunt for food. Based on the dominant characteristics of the dog breeds in this group, they can be categorized under many more sub categories, With the exceptional hunting abilities called sighthounds, with the ability to run extremely fast greyhounds, with the very strong sense of scent called scenthounds and foxhounds. Not all of the dog breeds have to share the same characteristics. There are some dog breeds included in the hound group without the strong skills such as running fast or smelling abilities. One of the most common characteristics of all races is the hunting insticnt and to show the way towards the target and leading the way.
